Award-winning Actor and Director, Talita Maia, was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At an early age, she was involved with several artistic expressions such as Theater, Ballet, and classic Piano. Talita would perform in retirement homes, orphanages, other schools, and all the plays at her Church. It was also during her childhood that she became a Judo District Champion.

At the age of sixteen, she got into College to study Marketing. It was also at that point in her life that she decided to take her first professional acting class. She went to study with the well-known Brazilian Director Walter Lima Jr. At some point during those 4 years of getting her degree, she also decided to go to law school. After one year of studying at both universities, she decided to abandon Law school. After getting her bachelor’s degree she worked in a multinational advertising agency and became a junior account manager.

After moving to the US, Talita got a 2-year Certification in Film Studies at UCLA Extension and built a career in voice-over and on-screen acting. Her credits include TV shows like “Community”/NBC, “Why Women Kill” / Paramount+, “ICarly Revival”/ Paramount+, as well as the independent pilot “Blow Me” alongside Tony Shalhoub and Jeremy Sisto, where she played the female lead.

As a voice-over and dubbing actor, Talita has over 12 credits as the lead voice for cartoons, documentaries, and series for networks like Netflix, FOX, and TV Globo.

Talita always had a desire to direct, she adventured into writing but never thought directing was possible. In 2018, after a ski accident that required surgery and over a year of physical therapy, she decided it was time to put her on-screen acting career on hold and finally went to pursue her other dream, directing.

Her debut with the short film Tempest Desert, which she produced, wrote, directed, and starred in, got into over 10 film festivals, including Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts, BAFTA qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, and the established Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. It won outstanding excellence in directing awards, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Audience Award, and several nominations.
